DS METROPOLIS Concept
The DS Metropolis was unveiled in Shanghai in May 2010 and was designed in China by Citroen. The hybrid concept Metropolis combined smooth surfaces, taut lines and sleek curves with strong features like a powerful front wing that gives the car an even more distinct character.
The Metropolis features a plug- in hybrid drivetrain that chooses the best operating mode at the time. Full electric mode is used when you start driving, at low speeds and when you decelerate, relying upon an electric motor which varies its output between 55bhp and 95bhp. Combustion mode only is used when crusing along an open road such as the motorway, with the V6 2.0l perol engine producing 272bhp. An over- boost function combines the electric and combustion mdes to give extra power when accelerating, delivering up to 460bhp and four wheel mode.
