That go-kart joy you feel in a MINI is no coincidence. We worked hard to find the perfect position for the high voltage lithium-ION battery, which is arranged in a T-shape along the length of the vehicle floor. This is why the all-electric MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) has a low-centre of gravity and greater overall stability for improved driving dynamics.
JCW models embody a rich sporting heritage that stretches back over five decades. More powerful. More efficient. The latest generation of MINI JCW TwinPower Turbo combustion engines pack a powerful performance while complying with the latest emissions regulations. They don't just stand out from the rest – but leave the rest standing.
The countdown is on to smoother, faster acceleration thanks to E-Launch Control. A special tuning feature that minimises wheel spin and helps prevent over-revving and overheating. Once your all-electric MINI JCW is warmed up, just put your foot down and get ready to launch.
Precision handling and remarkable responsiveness is the name of the game thanks to JCW sports suspension. Want more directional control and greater grip? Increased camber on the front wheels will help with that. Fancy optimised stability? Specially tuned springs, stabilisers and dampers will sort you out.
Precise edges and sharp lines create an impressive appearance that is undeniably JCW. Look out for subtle flourishes and specially selected materials which shout MINI style and sophistication.
Extreme driving, power and precision handling are nothing without control. Which is why we developed these John Cooper Works Performance Brakes to match the performance of your JCW 20" light alloy wheels and give you the stopping power you need for corners and straights alike. The ventilated, compound brake discs are perforated at the front axle to improve cooling and prevent films of water and dust from forming between brake pad and disc. The all-electric MINI JCW models are designed to manage aerodynamic forces as efficiently as possible. The fully closed underbody and grille considerably reduce wind resistance. The front bumper and rear spoiler help keep your MINI firmly on the ground, with less drag. And JCW wheels are aerodynamically optimised, too.
The MINI JCW multi-function steering wheel places that distinctive go-kart feeling firmly in your hands. The left control panel activates driver assistance systems, while the right controls your entertainment, Intelligent Personal Assistant, and communication functions.
Chili Red at the front, Jet Black at the rear. The Spray Tech roof-gradient design is a statement of intent that’s guaranteed to turn heads. Try it on the all-electric MINI JCW or MINI JCW Aceman.
The eye-catching Black grille framed in High Gloss Black and additional Chili Red accents give this model undeniable racing grit. You’ll also find the new JCW checkered flag logo on the grille.
Add optional sport stripes to your JCW for extra muscle power. Made of high-quality, solid-coloured decals to give your vehicle a distinctively track-inspired look.
Vibrant JCW colours. Enhanced aerodynamic efficiency. The rear bumper diffuser is the dictionary definition of style and substance – no compromises here! And don’t forget the rear spoiler wing which helps keep your JCW firmly grounded.
In 1959, the Classic Mini was a quirky newcomer. But John Cooper, an auto-racing legend, looked past the tiny sports package and saw its incredible balance, wide stance, and quick handling. MINI went on to dominate the 1960s racing calendar and won at Monte Carlo four years in a row – not bad for an underdog!
Back in 1946, Charles Cooper and his son John founded the Cooper Car Company and built their first racing cars in Charles' small garage in Surbiton, England. These humble beginnings ultimately changed the course of motorsport and helped create a thriving worldwide racing legacy that still exists today.
The Cooper Car Company started out building single-seat F3 racing cars. Thanks to the revolutionary rear engine, they soon became the car of choice for aspiring young drivers, including John Cooper, who went on to win both the F1 World Championship and Constructors’ Championship.
John Cooper could see the potential of the classic Mini, but he knew he could take it further. Defying all convention, he added a more powerful engine, new brakes and sharper steering. In 1961, the first Mini Cooper was born.
By 1964, the Mini Cooper name was known worldwide. It was outracing the more powerful sedans of the day, and was tallying up wins at a rapid rate – including historic victories at Monte Carlo in 1964, 1965 and 1967.
From 2012 to 2015, MINI John Cooper Works and the German X-raid Team won the classic Dakar Rally held in South America. In 2017, they entered the all-wheel-drive MINI JCW Rally and the rear-wheel-drive MINI JCW Buggy. Both achieved prestigious race wins including the 2019 FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies and the Dakar Rally in 2020 and 2021.
In 2020, the new MINI John Cooper Works GP was the fastest MINI ever approved for road use – an exciting benchmark in performance. Designed for maximum agility, its 2.0 litre, 306 PS 4-cylinder turbocharged engine can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. The 3,000 limited edition run were snapped up in seconds by enthusiasts from around the world.
As a front runner and true pioneer in his field, we believe John Cooper would have embraced e-mobility with gusto. And we’re sure he’d be proud of the new, thrilling all-electric JCW incarnation that bears his name.
