We’re here to help the nation’s dogs travel happier. So, we’ve teamed up with the incredible dog welfare charity, Dogs Trust, to get that mission on the move.
With more UK families than ever welcoming dogs into their lives this past year, we thought what better time to explore how to help them travel happier.
Whether they’re sitting in the back, boot or in their favourite carrier, dogs need enough room to get comfortable.
Our cars can accommodate just about any breed, from sighthounds to spaniels to terriers, and everything in between. The MINI Countryman and MINI Clubman are our biggest models, with surprisingly generous room in the back. They also have the perfect dog car boot, too. In fact, 59% of MINI Countryman drivers surveyed said the spacious boot was their favourite feature for dog travel*.
And if you’re keen on that iconic, original MINI look then there’s also the MINI 5-door Hatch. Think of it as the more spacious brother to the 3-door, with two extra doors and added rear leg and boot space.

We know how essential it is to keep your pooch safe and comfortable on their travels, which is why we offer a range of dog guards. They can be fitted to many of our models, and offer extra security. Helping to keep your pup safely in the boot, away from the driver – and from your perfectly packed picnic, for that matter. You can also add a set of paw-pleasing All-Weather Mats, which stop them from skidding around, and protect your footwells and boot lining too.
