With exhaustive simulation and rig testing, the Defender range has been driven over 1.2 million kilometres, completing more than 45,000 individual tests to ensure that it is the toughest Land Rover ever made. Land Rover’s most capable and durable commercial vehicle ever will provide a unique combination of cargo space, practicality and comfort to offer you the complete driving experience.
To maximise cargo space, the cabin doesn’t keep the second or third row of seats, however the central front-row jump seat option provides space for three.
As with the standard Defender, the Hard Top will incorporate the latest infotainment and driver assistance features, including the latest version of the firm's Pivi Pro infotainment system. This will also include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatability. Furthermore Software-Over-The-Air will deliver updates without visiting a retailer.
The new Defender Hard Top model will blend 3,500kg towing capacity with optional Advanced Tow Assist technology to effortlessly pull and manoeuvre trailers.
With a variety of engine options, all provide power and performance along with generous fuel economy that keeps the Defender venturing far. Amongst the range of powerful new engines is a fresh 2.2-litre diesel engine paired with a GFT MT 82 six-speed gearbox, which replaces the 2.4-litre engine of the current Defender's predecessor.
