When you want maximum performance, the new BMW X1 plug-in hybrid combines both electric and petrol power sources to offer a combined output of 220hp and 385Nm of torque. the result - strong over-taking power and acceleration from 0 - 62 mph in just 6.9 secs.
The eDrive button lets drivers choose settings such as AUTO eDRIVE, MAX eDRIVE and SAVE BATTERY mode. AUOT eDRIVE, which uses navigation data, optimises the two power sources. MAX eDRIVE is for pure electric driving while, SAVE BATTERY mode maintains the charging state of the battery while driving.
Using a BMW i Wallbox, the battery in the BMW X1 Plug-in Hybrid can be charged in less than 3.2 hours. However, even when using a regular 3-pin socket and standard-equipment charging cable, it will take about 5 hours, perfect for an overnight charge.
