Return to your workplace with Social Distancing

How to stay safe and protect the wellbeing of you and your colleagues.

As a company, we are taking all the necessary steps to ensure our teams remain safe and well, whilst they undertake their daily duties.

As we begin to apply a phased re‑introduction of the other key members of our team, it is vitally important that every measure is taken to ensure our workplace is a safe environment for each of you to undertake your roles without feeling vulnerable or anxious in respect of your health and wellbeing.

This return to work policy encapsulates all the necessary guidelines required to ensure you remain safe and well, within your working environment, and also includes some government advisory guidelines to help keep you safe during your journeys to and from work.

Please adhere to the safety guidelines, clearly outlined within this policy, and please also ensure you remind others if they fail to strictly adhere to our health and safety compliance policies.

Remember: We are one team and we need to collectively ensure we all remain safe and well during this extremely challenging transitional period of our personal, social, and working lives.

All the guidelines and procedures we have incorporated, within this policy, are based upon information provided by the UK Government, NHS Medical Advisors, and the World Health Organisation.

Please observe the strict guidelines, which will be in place upon your return to work and please adapt as quickly as you can to the clear instructions, which will be apparent throughout our workplace.

It is, YOUR responsibility to adhere to these guidelines and anyone failing to do so will be placing themselves and their colleagues at risk of infection from Covid-19. Please follow our strict Social Distancing guideline:

  • The primary social distancing guideline is to always maintain a distance of 2 metres (6 feet) from other people, which obviously dictates that all physical contact is strictly forbidden.
  • In the event of a specific work related activity, which may require – for safety reasons – more than one member of staff working within a closer proximity than 2 metres; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn to minimise the risk of exposure to Covid-19 infection. Examples of this may be the lifting of a heavy item or the completion of a specific task, which requires more than one person to ensure the work is undertaken safely and to the required standard. If the specific activity can be undertaken, by maintaining the recognised safe distance of 2 metres, PPE need not be worn, unless there is a potential risk of safe distance encroachment.
  • It is important to ensure we all respect the space occupied by our colleagues and this requirement is clearly more prevalent, within an enclosed space or restricted area, such as lifts or stairs.
  • Please always follow the visible guidelines, which are clearly displayed at the entrances to stairs and lifts, and please also ensure you remain courteous and observe your colleagues ‘right of way’ when entering any areas with restricted space.

Should you require any additional information or clarifications, in relation to the above, please do not hesitate to contact your line manager or HR.

DO NOT TAKE ANY UNNECESSARY RISKS WHICH MAY COMPROMISE THE SAFETY AND WELLBEING OF YOU OR YOUR COLLEAGUES.

Social Distancing and Safety Signage will be prevalent, throughout your workplace, when you are asked to return, in line with our phased workforce reintroduction sequence.

Please observe and absorb the clear messages, within the signage, and always adhere to their clear guidelines and procedures.

The Social Distancing and Safety Signage is in place for the safety and wellbeing of you and your colleagues: Non-compliance of their clear instructions will result in disciplinary measures being applied to those found to be in breach of guidelines.

Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) may be required when undertaking specific tasks, as detailed under ‘Social Distancing: The Guidelines’ of this policy.

We will, therefore, provide protective masks, full face visors and gloves, as and when required to enable you to fulfill your role safely and with an appropriate level of efficiency.

We are currently providing new and existing clients with Social Distancing and Safety Signage / PPE from a comprehensive catalogue, which is available upon request from your line manager or HR.

We are acutely aware of the impact current lockdown measures can have on an individual’s overall physical and mental wellbeing.

The message we would like to provide for you is this: Please come and talk with us about any concerns you may have, in relation to how you feel and please never consider yourself to be going through this alone and without the support of your colleagues.

Please pick up the phone or send an e-mail to your line manager, HR, or any member of the Senior Management Team, and we will have a consultation session with you to discuss your concerns and answer any questions relating to situations which may be causing you to become anxious or concerned.

We are here to help you.
