History: Barretts 'The Home Entertainers'

In 1933, three years after the motorists booklet was published, another was produced to inform purchasers how to look after their radios, how Barretts service department worked and also to extoll the virtues of records and record players.

As it would say in the booklet, "we have reproduced two of the pages here for our customers amusement and satisfaction." Perhaps the most interesting point is that the HMV prices are not very different from the amount that can buy a small radio today, but that 19 gns (£19.95) in 1933 is about £440 in 1997 money!
